CORNWALL COAST - 6 NIGHT WORKSHOP!
Due to popular demand, I'll be repeating this 2-centre 6-night workshop in Novermber 2026!
The workshop begins at 6.30pm on November 9th 2026, when we meet for a pre-dinner drink and chat at The Harbour Hotel in Padstow (https://www.harbourhotels.co.uk/padstow) where we spend the first three nights.
This is a great location from which to explore the rugged Atlantic coastline with its imposing cliffs, stunning sandy beaches and pounding seas. During the three days of photography we’ll travel by minibus to a variety of stunning locations – including Sandymouth, Bay, Bude seapool, Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Trebarwith Strand, Penture Head, Trevose Head and Holywell Bay. Hopefully we’ll have a mix of weather so we can take advantage of the dramatic coastal scenery and you’ll have the chance to shoot everything from sweeping views to small details – the North Cornwall coast is home to some fantastic rock formations, especially at Sandymouth Bay and Crackington Haven. The coastline is also a great place for long exposure photography, so be sure to pack your Big Stopper (or equivalent) ND filter!
The next 3 nights will be spent at Hotel Marazion in, funnily enough, Marazion!
We'll be just a short walk from a beautiful sandy beach and views across Mounts Bay to St Michael's Mount, a great location at dawn and dusk. A few miles down the coast, there's the picturesque village of Mousehole with its tiny harbour and traditional fishermen’s cottages. Heading further west takes us to the stunning beaches or Porthcurno and Pedn Vounder, with dramatic coastal cliffs.
Land’s End is a must – the views from the coastpath both east and west are stunning, and make a great evening/sunset spot. Moving north takes us to Sennen Cove, then the isolated beach of Porth Nanven at the end of the remote Cot Valley, favoured by photographers for its 'Dinosaur Egg' boulders and wave-shaped rocky sculptures. Not far away are the Crown Engine Houses at Botallack that cling perilously to the cliffs and are bathed in evening light. We’ll also head up onto the North coast to capture Godrevy Lighthouse from the rugged coastline, another location that works equally well at dawn and dusk.
Heading south east along the coast from Marazion takes us to the amazing Lizard Peninsula. If weather conditions are suitable (ie stormy) we’ll maybe head to Porthleven to photograph the clock tower being lashed by Atlantic waves. Time permitting we’ll also head to Kynance Cove, Mullion Cove and Lizard Point.
As always, Lee will be on hand at all times to offer help and advice and make sure you return home with some fantastic images, so don’t worry if you come along with a new camera or lens, or a bunch of filters you’ve never used before! As well as shooting classic coastal scenes in colour, you’ll also have the chance to experiment with black & white, long exposure photography, and shooting details.
The workshop concludes after sunset on November 15th 2026 (approx 6pm). If you don't wish to drive home that evening, you could always spend a final night at Hotel Marazion (subject to availability and extra cost).
More information on equipment, clothing etc will be sent out closer to the trip, but feel free to email Lee at info@photoadventures.co.uk if you have any queries.
